Stepping Into Growth: What I’ve Been Learning as a Mompreneur

If you’ve ever felt the tension of balancing mom life, faith, and entrepreneurship, you are not alone. Over the past few months, I took what I called a “temporary break.” But if I’m being real, it was anything but a break. Between raising two boys, helping on my mentor Heidi’s team, and juggling my own creative business, life has been beautifully messy and full of lessons.

Learning from Mentorship and Discomfort

One of the biggest blessings in this season has been learning from my mentor, Heidi. When I stepped into a bigger role on her team, I didn’t realize just how much I would grow. She has stretched me in ways that were not always comfortable, but absolutely necessary. That’s the thing about growth—it often shows up disguised as discomfort.

Back in April, I even got to fly to Nashville to help her create content. I had the best time! I adored her family, bonded with her sweet pup Piper, and even ended up at a small, laid-back benefit concert where Vince Gill performed. It was one of those surreal moments that reminded me: saying “yes” to opportunities, even scary ones, can lead to blessings beyond what we imagine.

The Real Struggle of Mom Life + Work Life

Summer brought a whole new challenge: working from home with kids. I love my boys, but having both of them home while I was writing blogs, designing graphics, and creating content? Whew. Let’s just say my multitasking skills were tested daily. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me the importance of boundaries, grace, and laughter when things didn’t go as planned.

Now that they’re back in school, I’m working on new habits. For me, that means finally tackling the things I’ve always avoided—organization, time management, and discipline. Honestly, these have never been my strengths. But I feel strongly that God is calling me to grow in these areas. He’s brought me so far, and I know He isn’t done yet.

Choosing Growth Over Comfort

If you’re in a season where God is nudging you to grow, I get it. It’s hard. It’s uncomfortable. Sometimes it feels impossible. But that’s where His grace shows up. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” I cling to that truth daily, because I know I can’t do this on my own.

Growth rarely happens in our comfort zones. It happens when we surrender, when we submit our weaknesses to God, and when we trust Him to shape us into who He designed us to be.

Final Encouragement + How You Can Learn Too

If you’re a mom, creative, or woman of faith trying to balance it all, hear this: you are not behind, you are not failing, and you are not alone. God is still working in your story. Keep showing up, keep growing, and keep trusting that He has a purpose for you—even in the messy, in-between seasons.

And here’s the truth—I wouldn’t know half of what I do today about paint parties, creative business, and marketing if it weren’t for my mentor, Heidi. She has poured into me and countless other women, teaching us how to use our creativity to build something purposeful.

If you’ve ever dreamed of running your own creative business—whether it’s hosting paint parties, selling art kits, or using your gifts to make an income—I want you to know that you can learn from Heidi too.
