Jesus Music, Memories, and a Little Magic: Our First Concert with CAIN!
Back in August, I got to experience something truly special with my son, Cam—we went to his first concert! We headed over to Osborne Baptist Church in Eden, NC, for an unforgettable night of music, thanks to K-LOVE Radio. The headliners were CAIN, one of my all-time favorite groups, and it was such an incredible experience! It was the perfect opportunity for some Mama-and-Cam time, and it’s a memory I’ll treasure forever.
Up Close and Personal with an Amazing Show
We were lucky enough to snag some of the best seats in the house—just three rows from the stage! The energy was buzzing as Caleb & John opened the show, getting everyone hyped up. Halfway through their set, CAIN joined them on stage to sing "Somebody Like Me," and it was the perfect way to kick off the night. Being so close to the stage made it feel like we were part of the show, and Cam was wide-eyed with excitement!
Cam’s First Concert: A Milestone Moment
This was Cam's very first concert, and I wasn’t sure how he’d handle the big sounds and long night. But he did amazing! He was completely captivated from start to finish, soaking in every moment with such joy. I couldn’t have been prouder of how he stuck it out even when the night got late. His excitement was contagious, and it made the entire evening even more special for me as a mom.
The highlight for Cam was when CAIN performed his favorite song, "I’m So Blessed," complete with a confetti cannon that filled the room with sparkling excitement. And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, they returned for an encore, singing "Blessed Assurance." The harmonies were breathtaking, and it was the perfect end to an unforgettable evening.
A Special Connection: Sharing My Painting with CAIN
As many of you know, my art goes wherever I do, and CAIN’s music has been a huge source of inspiration for me. So, I brought one of my paintings along! Before the show, Cam and I stopped by the merch table, where we met Madison’s husband. I shared a bit about my creative journey, and he kindly arranged for us to meet the band after the concert!
Meeting CAIN in person was such a dream come true. They were incredibly kind, warm, and down-to-earth. I had attached a letter to the back of the painting, sharing my story and how their music has been part of my healing process. They were genuinely touched and said the painting resonated with a vision they’d been considering themselves. Taylor even mentioned they’d hang it in their writing room—such an honor!
An Unforgettable Night with My Son
I couldn’t have asked for a better night to share with Cam. Music, art, and precious family bonding—those are the moments that truly matter. And to top it all off, CAIN shared my painting on their Instagram! It was the perfect conclusion to an already magical night.
I’m incredibly grateful for the experience and for the memories we made together that evening. Sharing something I’m passionate about with Cam and seeing his excitement was pure joy. If you ever get the chance to see CAIN live, don’t pass it up! And if you’re looking for a unique way to connect with your kids, a live concert might just be the perfect adventure—it’s an experience that neither of you will ever forget!
