If You Feel Nervous About Your Calling, Read This
Have you ever felt nervous right before doing something important? That shaky feeling in your chest, the thoughts that say, “What if I mess this up?” or the quiet fear that whispers, “I’m not ready.” That’s exactly how I felt the night I shared my heart about the Creative Ministry Collective. And here’s what God showed me in that moment: feeling nervous doesn’t mean you’re doing the wrong thing. Often, it means you care deeply and you’re stepping into something that truly matters.
Doing It Scared Is Still Obedience
So many Christian women feel called to something more… a sense of purpose or meaning, and a deeper connection with God… but fear keeps them stuck. I almost didn’t show up that night. I wanted notes. I wanted a plan. I wanted something safe to hold onto (like a full outline of notes LOL!). But God pressed on my heart and reminded me to simply speak from where I was. And the truth I want you to hear today is this: you don’t have to feel ready to say yes to God. You just have to be willing. Obedience doesn’t come from confidence. It comes from trusting Him.
My Journey to Creative Ministry
For years, I searched for purpose. I tried different jobs, different business ideas, and different paths, but nothing ever truly clicked. I questioned my worth and tied my value to what I did and what others thought of me instead of who God says I am. That left me feeling unfulfilled and lost. When life brought deep loss through the death of one of my closest friends and later two miscarriages, everything changed. I needed healing in a way I couldn’t explain. Painting became my safe place. It helped me process grief, quiet my mind, and connect with God when words felt impossible. Art was no longer just something I enjoyed… it became something I needed.
How Painting Turned Into Purpose
At first, painting was simply what helped me get through hard seasons. When grief felt heavy and emotions were overwhelming, creativity gave me an outlet to breathe, pray, and reflect. Over time, God began to show me that what He was using to help heal my heart could also help others. I started to realize that I didn’t want to keep this to myself. I wanted to help other women learn how to use creativity as a healthy way to cope, heal, and connect with God in their own lives.
As I began to see creativity through a ministry lens, God placed a clear desire on my heart… not just to create, but to share it with others. This wasn’t about one big moment or event. It was about obedience unfolding over time. God helped me see that by showing others how to use creativity for healing and reflection, we could work together to build the Kingdom through our gifts. That is how this vision came into fruition.
You’re Not Called to Do This Alone
If God is stirring something in your heart and you feel a nudge to use your creativity for Him, you are not meant to do it alone. The Creative Ministry Collective exists to support women who love Jesus, love creating, and feel called but unsure where to start. Inside the Collective, you’ll find faith-filled art designs, simple devotionals, creative ministry resources, and a supportive community walking alongside you. You don’t have to be an expert or feel qualified. You just have to be willing to take the next step.
Your Yes Impacts More Than You
When fear keeps us stuck, we forget something important: ministry isn’t about us. Your yes could help someone else breathe again. Your creativity could offer peace, hope, and connection in places where traditional ministry may not reach. When we shift our focus from our fear to serving others, something changes. God uses our obedience in ways we may never fully see, and that is a privilege.
Ready to Say Yes?
If you feel God whispering, “This is for you,” don’t overthink it. Just say yes. Join the Creative Ministry Collective and step into a community where faith and creativity come together with purpose. Your creativity was never meant to stop with you. Let’s use it for something eternal.
